Health Crisis in America – Who is Responsible?
Who is responsible for the health crisis in America?

BLAME-charge health crisis
Who is responsible for the health crisis in America? Is it the government? The state of the economy? Parents? Schools? What about you and me? Restaurants? Grocery stores? Whether it is our busy schedules? What about the drinks and parties you attend? Maybe the choice offered food to blame. Yes! “Blame.” This is the word I was looking for! We are looking for someone or an institution to blame for our health crisis.
Is there a GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY?
Is there a government conspiracy? If this is so, but that is the conspirators? Come and get us one thing right. You and I do not need anyone’s help in creating a health crisis. There is a reason. You and I are the main conspirators of our own lives. We have more than enough information received to let us know what to do for our health and yet we, in many cases, to act, and for the changes to improve. I think the conspiracy theory clearly in a nutshell. When I speak of the health crisis, I have no medical insurance or medical care or treatment. Surely it is an important issue.
You are responsible for YOUR HEALTH
You are personally responsible for all the decisions you make. Do not blame any institution or anyone else for your poor choices that lead to disease, illness and poor health.
WHY AMERICANS RANK layer on longevity
What caused America so far behind the statistics on the longevity of the world falls? The position of 11 to 42d. Americans no longer live, but not as long as 41 other countries, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. Why is one of the richest countries in the world unable to keep pace with other countries? Some say it’s because the United States has no universal health care. I do not see it as the primary reason that we have never had universal health care. Here is what I think are some of the main reasons for this trend:
* Adults in the United States has one of the highest obesity in the world. A third of U.S. adults 20 years and older are overweight and approximately two thirds are overweight, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.
* Americans are extremely sedentary in their lifestyles.
* Americans do not exercise at all or very little.
* Americans eat too much and eat too much processed food, sugar and fat.
* As long as the health care debate is limited to insurance, the health of Americans can not improve.
SAM I DO IT
Children sometimes will do the craziest things. Once upon a time there were two brothers. We will call them Sam and Jake. As the school-age brothers, Sam, Jake arrives a tree to climb, and so he did. And Jake is confronted, on a dare, to go out on a long, thin branch of the tree is. He gets about half way out before the leg break, and came to earth fall with a blunt. Jake broke his nose and a few cuts and bruises. Both children report to their mother and of course Mom said Jake, “How did it happen?” Jake responds, “Sam made me do it!
There are many complaints that I hear about all that persuasive processed foods in grocery stores. There are notes about the special challenge of eating out: The portion sizes are too large, and there are all irresistible, unhealthy “choices” available. I see no difference between Jake’s reaction and they complain of adults’ reactions to their fate – or, should I say dilemma. Jake said: “Sam has me do it.” Translation: Sam is responsible for Jake’s poor decision to go out on a limb. That is nonsense. Jake is responsible for his own decision to go out on a limb. We adults are too often “go out on a limb” with our health due to poor choices, while the blame on external circumstances or institutions – whether commercial, social, or the government. Cease fire with such thoughts of blame external circumstances or other people. Take control. Be accountable for your own actions.
Institutional responsibility
Are our institutions outside the hook when it comes to responsibility? No, it is not. I use the term “institution” in a broad sense, is the following:
to include
* Federal, state and local governments
* Political parties and politicians
* Teachers and school boards
* Doctors, dentists, nurses
* Journalists, press and media
* CEO’s and corporate shareholders
* Restaurateurs, marketers
* School cafeterias
* Workplace cafeterias
* Clergy, little league coaches
* Parents and caregivers
* Law enforcement officers, probation officers
* Military leaders (the team leader upwards)
Institutions are responsible for the good example
What kind of leadership is responsible institutions when it comes to healthy eating and exercise? Institutions, as well as all the leaders, have a greater level of responsibility, rules and regulations of the organization.
Our institutions have a special responsibility to “walk the talk,” explained the goals of health and fitness, and take a more visionary role to establish and implement standards for a solution to our health crisis. Our institutions are morally obligated to set the example by living the high standards required of them as leaders. This can be achieved through legislation, executive orders, and both internal and public policy. Our institutions need to continue the problem and they use special effects save lives and prevent suffering.
Health Insurance Equate NOT a healthy lifestyle
Health insurance will be reached. Are you looking for real health insurance? Make your premium payment in the form of living a healthy lifestyle that is poor from dependence on a house pharmacy medicines. Most of our medications are prescribed for the sake of our lives, not because we are just sick. I refer to the overwhelming rule and not the exception.
There are exceptional cases where, despite a healthy lifestyle, serious disease or illness occurs. Want a car simply because someone has a car accident had to drive? Furthermore, you should not stop a healthy lifestyle to lead, just because someone you know lived to be 100 years old as a smoker. It would be a fatal mistake in thinking. It is precisely this kind of thinking that own death and mutilation Americans. Ban this type of thought from your mind.
Teachers are role models
Teachers are role models and leaders when it comes to eating and exercise habits and how they portray their attitudes about fitness and health in the school. John Maxwell defines leadership as “influence – nothing more, nothing less.” Move to the position of the teacher to assessing the ability of the teacher to influence others as a leader is essential. This refers to those who would consider their followers, and outside that circle.
Leadership builds character, because without maintaining integrity and trustworthiness, the ability to positively influence will disappear. There are many definitions of leadership. They all refer to a leader with influence on others and give them the necessary guidance and direction of a long-term agreement on future thinking.
ITEM Our Children in the right direction
Policy is made from the top down, through legislation, executive order, mission and policy statements. Where there is a gap in such a top-down leadership, the initiative should start from the ground. Educational institutions based on their access to large blocks of our children’s time, has a unique responsibility to go beyond mere child the whole curriculum to consider. By offering healthy and wise choices, it set an example for the rest of that child’s life.
This is not to say that all teachers should be fashion-model, a thin or beautiful or in any way shaped the media’s image. An overweight teacher who’s working to improve fitness would be better to have the size 4 that proud candy bars and drinking sodas to eat in front of her pupils.
Institutions are role models in everything they say and do or say or do.
Their policies and actions to the standards.
Make us Our Children
Look at some statistics about child obesity in America.
About 15 percent of children and adolescents ages 6-19 years are seriously overweight.
The percentage of children and adolescents defined as overweight, almost tripled, since the early 1970’s.
* More than 10 percent of preschool children between the ages of two and five is overweight.
* Another 15 percent of children and adolescents ages 6-19 are considered at risk of becoming overweight.
* Researchers found that lowered self-esteem is linked to obesity for the girls as young as five.
* One in five children in the U.S. are overweight.
* Children ages 10-13 who are obese are expected to a 70% probability of suffering from obesity as adults have.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC), 1999-2000
National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES)
Obesity in children just a pointer and not the real problem
Childhood obesity is the only indication of an underlying problem of a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Address the underlying issues, and childhood obesity would be significantly reduced.
Schools, teachers, parents have an increased level of responsibility
Our schools, teachers and parents have an increased level of leadership responsibility of the statistics that a few of the many indicators of the direction of the state of health of our kids to speak. Once these children are adults, they too will have their lifestyles to their children and will in all probability be perpetuated poor eating and exercise practices. The consequences will manifest themselves as learning disabilities, increased crime and socio-economic problems that our children’s generation can not afford to have.
The mother of all excuses INSTITUTIONAL
What is the number one reason institutions for not doing the bad state of health of the Americans to fight?
Answer: It is each individual’s own decision how they want to live, how they want to eat and to exercise or not. This is the mother of all institutional excuses. An institution with this excuse is the leadership accepts the responsibility as a vision to guide and lead by example and practice that institutional influence they have. The institutions have the question of vision that they can do to influence to ask, guide and inspire each individual to healthy lifestyle choices.
WHY pyramids and dietary guidelines do not work
Dietary guidelines, pyramids and maps are all Americans failed to make healthier. Why are they not working? Institutions are composed of individuals who are a cross section of the community who is personally engaged with the issues on the same lifestyle eating and exercise, as all consumers.
Government set THE STANDARD as a leader
Emission controls in the automotive industry has resulted in smaller, cleaner and more fuel-efficient cars, though more work remains to be done. This success has been achieved by government regulation through the Clean Air Act and similar initiatives. We have just as another form of pollution pressure in America: health pollution.
HEALTH POLLUTION
We have a health crisis of pollution on our hands in America, and – as with engine emissions regulations – the food and beverage industry should be regulated for the improvement of the standards to conform to healthy eating through a rigorous labeling, reduced portion sizes, and regulation and disclosure of unhealthy ingredients in our nation’s food supply.
Americans and their children is the most over-fed and under-nourished group of people in the world.
One of the two Americans is overweight.
One-third of Americans are overweight.
If obesity is the second largest cause of preventable death in the U.S.
ILLNESS AND DISEASE food AMERICA BIG Bucks
* The total cost of stroke in the United States is estimated at about $ 43000000000 a year.
* $ 28 billion per year in direct costs for medical care and therapy.
* $ 15,000 is the average cost of care for a patient for up to 90 days after stroke.
* $ 35,000 for 10% of the patients, the cost of care for the first 90 days after stroke.
* Statistics compiled from the Pennsylvania Health Care Council saving “Hospital Performance Report: 28 common medical procedures and treatments” (December 2002)
Food and beverage
The food and beverage, as well as the health and wellness industry has a leadership responsibility to clean up their marketing. Wrong and misleading information is rampant. Please carefully and you will ask the emotion-laden words, what a poor choice and portion sizes are associated.
A NATIONAL HEALTH POLLUTION vulnerability
The current pollution health of America is a national security issue, because the implications go much further in the sociological issues, such as the escalating crime and poor learning ability. An unhealthy America can not perform or think as well.
Looking Forward
Everything that challenges our country faces will be better if we healthier body and mind. Sick and unhealthy Americans live longer and live with meds. The Americans must be returned to the health and weaned off the meds where possible. In most cases, lifestyle changes result in better health, independently of meals. Our physicians are faced with a special institutional leadership role in the strategy-based lifestyle changes and medication, not only that they not only medication that they can truly take on the role of healers, not only for the patient, but also for the nation prescribe . Keep America strong. The medication without thinking healthy eating and exercise are dead Americans.
We have what it takes to change our culture for the improvement of all by taking personal responsibility for our life we lead. Our bodies have an equally important role model for responsibility to set the tone and standard necessary to keep America healthy. Regardless of political affiliation, there would be a complete agreement on personal and institutional responsibility.
